[21:14] the carrige pulls up to the Regent's private wing of the Imperial Manse as before, the fountain apparently having been turned off for repairs. [21:15] "Welcome back, Mistress Sable." [21:18] "Yes, we brought a new clue to the people his excellency is looking for." [21:18] * Jynaru lifts the case in his hand and smiles slightly. [21:18] The guard looks surpised around him suddenly. "Er.. so that's what it is.. allright, then, It seems you can carry it.. Please, follow me." You don't see the picture; you realize it's been hidden behind one of the many walls of curtains. What else could be hiding in these many labyrinthine coordors?" [21:22] Eventually you arrive at the Regent's waiting room, where he is seated in a large, comfortable chair next to a desk overfilled with papers. Every so often he picks one up and signs it, without really seeming to bother to read it. [21:23] "Good evening, Cicada, Jynaru." he gives a slight nod, eyes narrowing as he sees Kylara and nods to both of the others [21:24] * Jynaru is glad he has something to hold onto tightly other than the Regent's neck. [21:24] * Cicada kneels before the regent. "Your excellency, I have returned as you requested." [21:26] The Regent beams happily, putting one hand on her shoulder. "I am very pleased that you decided to give up on that crazy idea of yours." [21:26] "And I have brought one who has another clue to the last woman you seek." [21:26] "Ah, excellent." [21:27] "You already know Ledhaal Jynaru, you excellency." [21:27] he smiles, taking cicada's hand and leading her to a chair nearby. [21:27] "Of course, how could I forget. How many? 15 anathema? 20? 30? It keeps growining every time I hear the story." [21:28] * Jynaru kneels down, opening the rather large case quietly and producing the picture. "15 solo, confirmed. I don't bother to count the rest." [21:28] The regent smiles happily and leans back, letting his eyes rest on Cicada for a moment before looking back to Jynaru's picture. [21:29] "You're not the only one with one of these, your excellency." [21:30] "Well I am most interseted in seeing it. It's not the same one that I have?" [21:30] "From the description, it would seem they are similar but not identical." [21:30] "I believe that more information might be revealed as they are collected. Like a puzzle that contains the whole within each part." [21:32] "Hmm, well there is only one more woman.. I think I know pretty well what she looks like." [21:33] * Jynaru nods. "Yet without her, it is incomplete, yes?" [21:33] "No, I can see her whole body pretty well. But it might help understand the events that must occur beofre the empress shows up." [21:34] "I must confess my expertise does not lie in prophecy, nor paintings." [21:34] * Jynaru will hand the Regent the picture and give a summary of how he came to be in possession of it, leaving out the whole Vault bit. [21:35] the Regent rubs his chin thoughtfully and shrugs. [21:35] "I already know who she is." [21:36] he absently taps the water dragon, whose face is not clear. "But, perhaps it has some clue... Thank you for bringing it nevertheless." [21:38] the regent hands the picture back to Jynaru. [21:38] "You know who the fire aspected woman is?" [21:38] * Jynaru nods. "Other Houses also may have copies. That is the more pressing mater." [21:38] "Yes, actually. Would you like to meet her?" [21:40] "Have you already found her? That's wonderful. That means we have all five." [21:41] "Yes, I would very much like to meet her." [21:41] The regent half-nods, in the middle of standing up. [21:41] "You know who the water aspect is?" [21:42] * Jynaru nods and busies himself with restoring the picture to the case. [21:43] "Yes, your excellency. She is a monk of the immaculate order." [21:44] "Very good then," the regent smiles. "All that cleared up.. I'll have to meet her." [21:44] The regent itches his head. "I'll be right back. I have to get her out of my rooms." [21:44] The regent excuses himself and dissapears into a nearby hallway. [21:44] "She is on an assignment now. But I suppose she can be contacted somehow." [21:45] * Cicada turns towards Jynaru and mouths "Tala." [21:45] * Jynaru raises an eyebrow. "I thought it as the fire that was obscured last time..." [21:45] Well the picture, it rotates. [21:47] you see that the entire landscape has turned, you can see the imperial manse in the background.... only the outer covering, the work of the immaculates? it's rubble. [21:47] lots and lots of rubble... [21:47] * Jynaru points it out to Cicada. "I have a feeling that's bad." [21:48] "That might not be good, no." [21:48] * Cicada turns pale. [21:49] * Jynaru ponders his lucky arrow. [21:50] The regent returns with a little cage in one hand, a tiny steel cage with a rocky hoop on the bottom... inside the cage, which he holds up easily in his left hand, is a tiny little butterfly with wings of fire, shining in a myriad of different reds, the burning aura lighting up the dark corners of the waiting room as he walks in. [21:50] * Cicada glances over at Sanyet. "You see anything?" [21:51] Sanyet shakes his head no. [21:53] * Cicada whispers to Sanyet. "Sometimes I almost wish you'd exalt. We need a little wisdom and prescience once in a while." [21:53] The regent puts the little cage down on a small, circular table in front of you and sits back down in his chair. "You can let her out if you want, she doesn't bite." [21:53] * Jynaru stands quietly by Kylara, wishing he'd spent some time studying sorcery other than how to not be hit by great wads of essence. [21:53] * Cicada gives him a smile to show she is joking. [21:53] "A Fire Elemental?" [21:54] "Hello miss. I am Sable Cicada." [21:54] "yes, a fire butterfly. God blood, actually... apparently she takes after her mother." [21:54] The fire butterfly flaps it's wings slowly inside the cage, seeming to look at you with it's tiny eyes. [21:54] "Oh, and your excellency..." [21:55] * Cicada points at the picture. [21:55] He looks at the picture, nodding as if it doesn't matter. [21:56] "Suddenly showing rubble indicates a little more importance to the picture than just prophecy. It appears to be adapting to reflect events." [21:57] "Suppose so. But if it means the empress coming back, not really worried about it." [21:57] "The Imperial Manse can be rebuilt." [21:58] "Metaphor. The picture may not be literal. Few prophecies are." [21:59] "So what do you think it means, that the realm is going to collapse before she gets back?" [22:01] "Perhaps. Or perhaps her and the 5 portend destruction. The pregnancy, signifying giving birth, the change to rubble. The blurring might mean that one of the 5 won't be there. I hardly expect an immaculate to be pregnant." [22:02] "Hmm.. interesting. But the other picture clearly shows that they are all present when the empress takes the throne. Unless, you think that this is after she returns?" [22:02] "Taken at face value, it has no more meaning than a family portrait. If someone was making these, and these are indeed old, they would want to hide what they were predicting from those who shouldn't know. If these are First Age, would you want the Anathema to know?" [22:03] "If these are really First Age, I'd expect the anathema made them, and thus probably already know either way." [22:03] * Jynaru shakes his head. "If you take it at face value. She is taking the throne, but there is nothing to rule. It may be that some cataclysm occurs before she returns to the throne." [22:05] "Suppose there are those who have profited from the current state of affairs, and her return brings true civil war?" [22:06] * Jynaru shrugs uneasily. "I may be reading too much into it. But I find it very hard to believe it is so simple." [22:07] the regent looks rather disturbed at this news. "I prefer to think that when the empress returns, everything will be made right." [22:08] "I too doubt it will be that simple." [22:09] The regent shakes his head. [22:09] "And if she is testing us? Seeing how strong we can stand on our own? She may not return until things are made right. Or any of a hundred other explanations." [22:09] "Sure, it'll be a challenge." [22:09] "It will be your of your excellency's hands for sure. But all well all of a sudden? I don't think so." [22:09] (out of your hands) [22:10] "As you've said, it may be a long time. There must be something for her to return to." [22:11] "I'm quite confident that the Empress is up to whatever challenge is involved in bringing the Realm back to it's best state. And believe me when I say," he laughs uneasily, "that I am doing the best I can." [22:12] "Nobody says that you isn't, your excellency." [22:12] "But we must do our best, now, while the Empress has not yet returned, to make sure there is something to return to." [22:13] "That's what i've been doing all along!" he throws his hands up in the air, exhasperated. "Well, for the last few months. But i've been trying!" [22:24] the regent nods, and puts down his pen. [22:24] "Well, I doubt i'm going to get anything else done tonight." he sighs tiredly. [22:24] * Cicada is chatting a bit with the Fire Butterfly. [22:27] sure, that's fine, though it tends to burn up whatever it lands on, so she instead transforms into a pretty bare-skinned girl to chat more easily. [23:43] Basically, these documents will give them a raise and give any tepet officer the right to search and seize any goods which are illegal. Also, another bill will raise their governemnt subsidy, and finally another bill will ensure that they have all the free housing and room service the tepets need in the Imperial Manse.
