Session Start: Sat Dec 21 20:32:24 2002 Session Ident: Werlynn [20:32] Actually there are 3 artifacts I would be interested in (your pick) Jade Chainmail, Ghost Seeing Blindfold or Circlet of Spirits [20:32] hmm they all sound ok [20:32] what does circlet of spirits do again? [20:33] Ghostseeing Blindfold would give me All-Seeing Sorcerer's Sight (the solar charm) [20:33] Circlet of Spirits is in Night book [20:33] yea I don't recognize it [20:33] Did it give you power over them or something? [20:34] See and Hear all immaterial spirits, and if made of jade it gives me +1 die to attack or defend from them [20:35] ok.... [20:36] the first two would probably be ok.. but ghostseeing blindfold costs committed essence right? [20:36] you can have either wto [20:36] two [20:36] The blindfold costs no essence [20:37] there is no commitment cost for it in the description [20:37] You just tie it on and you get the charm effect [20:37] All-Seeing Sorcerer's Sight alone is more powerful than the Circlet [20:38] yea.. make it cost committed essence for the blindfold if you take it [20:38] I'd see manses, essence flows, I think it would let you see essence in exalts [20:38] It lets me see spirits [20:38] how much committed essence? [20:38] 5 motes sounds about right [20:38] that or you could just pay for it like in the book [20:39] The book doesn;t have a cost though [20:39] yes but I don't have the book and it's probably an artifact 4 or something? [20:40] 3 [20:40] It also doesn't restrict my normal sight at all [20:41] I could see charms and sorcery in effect, I could see manses, essence flows in the world. The Circlet is less powerful [20:41] eh I think it's kinda powerful. Either committed essence or per scene. [20:41] the circlet probably has committed essence too? [20:41] 3 [20:41] yea that sounds ok [20:42] All it lets me do is see spirits [20:42] yea [20:42] * Werlynn is just trying to figure out why you said armor or blindfold, but not circlet [20:42] I said you could take either two [20:42] oh I can have 2 [20:42] I figure the armor and then either of the last two [20:42] yea [20:42] hmm [20:43] I don't know why you'd take both of the last two [20:43] hmm... blindfolded monk would be a cool look [20:45] Being able to see all essence would be very useful. [20:45] yea [20:45] so like I said you could either have committed essence or per scene [20:45] Committed essence [20:46] 5 you said? [20:46] yea [20:46] wait... [20:46] nm [20:54] I'll take the Blindfold and Armor [20:55] ok [20:55] Red Jade is the easiest for me to explain away.. though the other jade could be dealt with too,. [20:57] how hard would Black or Blue be? [20:58] oh I can explain it away [20:58] it just isn't as likely you found some [20:58] You found it on a long-dead body most likely. [20:58] * Werlynn would prefer either of those [20:58] I would say at the demense but you probably wouldn't touch it then. [20:59] yah [20:59] how's in the swamp? [20:59] felt the lure of essence or some such [21:00] everglades type swamp in the southern regions [21:00] ok [21:01] Black then? [21:01] sounds ok [21:54] Did the uses of our virtues for dice rolls reset? [22:27] I reread the charm. It doesn't say i see exalted, but it says i can see active charms, probably active artifacts too [22:27] ok [22:27] they are covered with artifacts though. [22:28] it doesn't explicitly say i see artifacts, but an artifact w/ an active effect should have essence visible, like a charm or spell would [22:28] ok [23:11] how hard would it be for me to develope my own charms? [23:12] I had one generic martial arts charm in mind, and a few Water Style charms [23:12] probably not too hard [23:12] i'd have to approve them [23:13] One would be a Martial Arts dice adder (the generic one) along the lines of the Melee one, except useable for blocking and attacking [23:14] One of the Water charms i had in mind seems pretty appropriate, an Armor Piercing charm. Basically a water style version of the snake charm [23:15] Water seeks out and flows through the cracks and weak points [23:15] hm [23:15] the second one I could see, lets say it requires a clinch though. [23:16] why? [23:16] need to keep it water-stylie [23:16] * Storyteller rubs his chin [23:16] it does [23:16] maybe a variable cost? [23:16] 5m 1wp is expensive [23:17] It would be me lashing out and striking at them. Crushing them doesn't really involve hitting weak points in their armor [23:18] hmm ok [23:19] Another i had in mind for water style (set after the Form charm) is an upgrade to Flowing Water defense that subtracts her Essence like Snake style does, costs about 4m, and lasts a scene [23:19] and is simple [23:20] * Storyteller 's still iffy about dice adders. [23:20] simple gimps it because, like the Form, she has to take time to activate it. But in turn, she doesn't suffer an attack penalty [23:20] Archery, Melee, and Throwing have them. Only hand to hand skills don't [23:20] exactly. [23:22] The one i am most interested in is the Armor Piercer. Basically the Snake Style stats [23:22] probably be ok... [23:23] In the tree after Flow Reversal Strike [23:23] hm i'll have to think about it. [23:23] ok Session Close: Sat Dec 21 23:25:17 2002
